Entry & dress standards

Arrive informed.
Feel prepared.

A practical guide to age requirements, identification and what to wear at The Star Gold Coast.

01 / AGE & ACCESS

18 means 18.

You must be at least 18 years old to enter the casino gaming areas. People who are excluded from the casino are also prohibited from entering those areas. Entry is subject to the venue’s conditions and management discretion.

A resort is more than its casino

The age restriction applies to casino gaming areas. Hotel, restaurant and other resort spaces have their own access conditions; check the venue you intend to visit.

02 / IDENTIFICATION

Bring accepted photo ID.

The official entry page lists current photographic evidence of age, including the following. Documents must be issued to you, current, show your photo and establish your age.

  • An Australian or foreign passport
  • An Australian or foreign driver licence
  • An adult proof-of-age card or recognised proof-of-age card

If your document is unusual, not in English or held digitally, ask the venue whether it will be accepted before you travel. Do not rely on a photograph or copy of an identity document.

03 / WHAT TO WEAR

Smart casual. A few extra rules.

Smart casual clothing and appropriate footwear are the starting point for the hotel and restaurants. Your overall appearance must be suitable, clean and safe.

The gaming floor has further restrictions. The official page includes restrictions on headwear, camouflage clothing, work boots and steel-capped footwear, swimwear, backpacks and luggage. Rubber thongs are restricted after 6 pm. Additional conditions and exemptions may apply.

These are examples rather than the complete policy. Check the official standards for the full list, including conditions relating to bags, face or head tattoos and other items.

04 / ON ARRIVAL

Allow time for entry checks.

Staff may request identification and inspect permitted bags. Being dressed appropriately does not guarantee entry. The operator retains discretion to refuse entry under its terms.
